7 Tips For a Peaceful Morning



If every morning feels like a dreadful sluggish cycle, it may be time to incorporate ways to create a peaceful morning experience. Mornings that you enjoy set the tone for the rest of your day. It’s the little things that we find make or break our mornings. For example, a cup of tea feels warm and inviting after hours of rest. Maybe create a habit of having your tea bag and mug ready for when you wake up. Rather than jolting awake to your alarm, try an auto alarm that plays soothing music. According to Forbes, when you have a positive morning in which you’re spending your first few hours or minutes doing things that you already decided in advance you really want to do, you’re starting your morning with intention. Here are 7 tips on how you can improve your mornings for a better day ahead.


Don’t Grab Your Phone


Avoid reaching for your phone as soon as you wake up. Prioritize your mental health by waiting to check the news, your email and social media. When you immediately start checking your phone or social media, you absorb information without checking in with yourself first. Inadvertently, you are putting yourself in a state of stress. Try to substitute phone time in the mornings with journaling, reflecting or reading.


Stretch!


Yoga poses in the morning release the tension in your body. Depending on how hard you slept, your body is most likely stiff. Imagine the state of the body after sleeping for 8 hours in only a few positions. Loosening up those muscles will have you feeling refreshed for the rest of the day.


Hydrate


Drink water! The hydration tip may feel like hearing a broken record. Although, we will always need water. Drinking enough water in the mornings will fuel your organs after a long night of rest.


Take a Morning Stroll


Get your body moving in the morning with a walk around the neighborhood. Even if it’s a couple rounds around your driveway, your body will thank you. Breathe in the morning air. Listen to the bird chirping. Morning walks are a great means of meditation.


Affirm


Affirm yourself that you’re going to have a great day. Tell yourself that you are capable of tackling the demands that the day will bring. Affirming these positive statements are what successful people have done for ages. Subconsciously you believe that you are capable of anything.



Eat a Healthy Breakfast


Fuel yourself with a breakfast that is nutritious. Feeding your body with junk will only make you feel more sluggish. Meal prepping the night before will make mindful eating easier.


Get READY


Many of us work from home. Getting ready and looking presentable isn’t the norm anymore during these times. Numerous Americans wake up and log on in their pajamas. Getting ready will make you feel polished and put together.
